On 14 August 2024, Day 2 of the Tourism Pahang Deep Content Workshop moved beyond the classroom and into practical field content creation across several tourism locations in Taman Negara, Pahang.
Following the digital marketing and content-planning foundations introduced on Day 1, participants were divided into three teams and assigned to capture photos and video content at Canopy Walk, Kampung Orang Asli and Latar Berekoh.
The practical exercise allowed participants to apply what they had learned about content ideas, visual storytelling and structured content preparation in real tourism environments.
Tourism Pahang Turning Content Planning into Practical Production

Day 2 focused on translating the concepts introduced during the first day into practical content-production experience.
Rather than working only with examples in the training room, participants were given the opportunity to identify suitable subjects, plan their visual approach and capture their own tourism-related photos and videos.
This practical stage aligned with the workshop’s wider training journey, which progressed from content ideation and storyboarding into content preparation, editing, sharing and scheduling.
By working directly in tourism environments, participants could better understand how planning decisions made before production influence the quality and usefulness of the final content.
Three Teams, Three Tourism Locations

Participants were separated into three groups, with each team focusing on a different tourism location:
Canopy Walk provided an opportunity to capture nature- and adventure-oriented tourism content.
Kampung Orang Asli gave participants a different setting for developing content around local surroundings and community-based tourism experiences.
Latar Berekoh provided another natural setting where participants could practise capturing destination-focused photos and video footage.
Working across different environments encouraged each team to think about how visual style, subject selection and storytelling approaches may vary depending on the tourism experience being presented.
Capturing Content for Real Tourism Promotion

The field activity gave participants practical experience in producing the types of content commonly used across social media platforms.
The workshop’s intended learning outcomes included preparing short-form videos, graphic materials and marketing copy, alongside storyboarding, editing and scheduling content for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
Day 2 therefore provided a direct opportunity for participants to begin developing their own visual materials rather than relying solely on classroom examples.
The exercise also encouraged participants to consider the purpose behind each image or video – what story it communicates, who it is intended for and how it could contribute to promoting a tourism destination more effectively.
Reviewing the Day’s Photos and Footage

After completing the field activities, participants returned for an evening session where the captured photos and video footage were reviewed.
This review stage provided an opportunity to look back at the material produced during the day, discuss what worked well and identify areas that could be improved before moving further into editing and content preparation.
Reviewing the material soon after production also helped participants connect their original planning and storyboarding decisions with the actual results captured on location.
Through the combination of field production and subsequent review, Day 2 became an important bridge between learning digital content concepts and applying them to real tourism-promotion scenarios.
For Kawan Elite, Day 2 demonstrated the importance of combining structured content planning with real-world practice, giving participants the opportunity to turn digital marketing concepts into practical tourism content.
