On 13 August 2024, Kawan Elite began Day 1 of the Tourism Pahang Deep Content Workshop at Danz Eco Resort, Taman Negara, Pahang, introducing participants to digital marketing and structured content development.
Day 1 focused on introducing participants to the workshop framework and building a foundation in digital marketing and content development before they moved into practical field content creation on the following day.
The programme brought together participants from across Pahang, including representatives connected with Tourism Pahang, MOTAC and participating agencies, with the training materials acknowledging their involvement and commitment to the programme.
Building Digital Content Capability for Pahang Tourism
The workshop was designed around the growing importance of digital marketing and digital content in promoting tourism destinations, experiences and services.
During the introductory training, participants were guided through the overall learning journey and the role that structured digital marketing can play in improving how tourism-related content is planned, produced and shared online.
The programme introduced a broad content-development process covering content inspiration and ideas, content calendars, storyboarding, content preparation, editing, sharing, scheduling and review.
This structure helped participants understand that effective tourism content involves more than simply taking photos or recording videos. It also requires planning, clear messaging and an understanding of how content supports wider communication objectives.
Introducing Deep Content and Digital Marketing Foundations

A key focus of the programme was the concept of deep content and how tourism organisations can build more structured and useful content for their audiences.
The training framework included the preparation of monthly and weekly content calendars, short-form videos, graphic materials and marketing copy, alongside storyboarding and content scheduling across social media platforms.
Participants were also introduced to areas such as social media account management, performance analysis and content editing, giving them a wider understanding of the activities involved in maintaining an effective digital presence.
The programme identified Facebook, Instagram and TikTok as key platforms within its training outcomes.
From Ideas to Structured Content Planning

Day 1 established the planning foundation that participants would later apply during practical activities.
The training journey moved from generating content ideas to developing content calendars and storyboards, helping participants think more clearly about what they wanted to communicate before beginning the production process.
By approaching content in a structured way, participants could better consider the purpose of each photo, video or social media post and how individual pieces of content could contribute to promoting tourism experiences more effectively.
The training materials also set a broader six-month outcome of reaching 2,000 cumulative social media followers, supported by stronger content planning, production, posting and analysis practices.
Preparing Participants for Hands-On Field Content Creation

The first day served as the preparation stage for the practical activities that followed.
After learning the foundations of digital marketing, content planning and storyboarding, participants were prepared to move from the classroom into real tourism environments where they could apply those ideas through photography and video production.
This transition from learning to practical application formed an important part of the workshop experience, allowing participants to connect the concepts introduced during Day 1 with real content-production activities during the next stage of the programme.
For Kawan Elite, the first day established the digital marketing and content-planning foundation needed for participants to approach tourism content creation with greater structure, purpose and confidence.
