The Situation
A semiconductor innovation hub needed a booking system as structured as the ecosystem it supports.
SIDEC’s semiconductor hub in Puchong was designed to support meetings, collaboration, and ecosystem activities across multiple shared spaces and meeting rooms.
As usage increased, manual room booking became operationally risky. Teams had to check availability through admin, records could be missed, duplicate bookings happened, and disputes could interrupt daily operations.
The hub needed a governed self-service booking infrastructure where every room could be reserved transparently, confirmed automatically, monitored centrally, and managed on a first-book-first-served basis.
The goal was to turn shared workspace usage from manual coordination into a governed, self-service booking system.
Manual Booking Bottleneck
Room reservations depended on admin coordination, slowing down access to shared spaces.
Duplicate Booking Risk
Manual records made it possible for the same room or time slot to be booked more than once.
No Central Occupancy View
Admins needed one live view to monitor room availability, bookings, changes, and utilisation.
Weak Booking Governance
The hub needed a transparent first-book-first-served system to reduce disputes and keep operations moving.
